We haven't been keeping our blog up to date very well lately but we have been very busy enjoying our 8 week vacation. We have worked pretty hard during the past year and spent alot of time (including weekends) out here driving this big truck so we thought we deserved a long vacation. We went to Myrtle Beach for 2 weeks and we went camping in Gatlenburg twice. We also went to Pigeon Forge with Eddie's sister, Joyce, and her husband Bobby. We saw a great dinner show there called "Fiddlers Feast". We took a trip with Eddie's sister, Mildred, to a place called "The Lost Sea" which is a huge cave, and deep underground you take a boat ride on a small lake. On that same trip we went to "Lookout Mountain" and "Rock City". We also made a stop at a small store where they showed us how to pan for gold. Eddie thought that was the most interesting part of the trip.
A wonderful friend of ours (Sandy Ricker) painted a western scene for us on the front of our barn. She painted a saloon, a jail, and a hotel. We made a sign that says "Empty Arms Hotel" and hung it in front of the hotel painting. Sandy did a super good job and we can't thank her enough for doing that for us. We are very fortunate to have such good friends like her.
We hope to have pictures from all of these things up on the www.countrydrive.com website soon. We are back up north now on the dedicated run and we'll probably be in a motel this weekend with high speed internet, so hopefully we can post the pictures then.
