Gas Prices
Eddie's sister, Lois, forwards us some interesting emails from time to time. We got one from her today that was interesting but we sure don't agree with it. Lois probably doesn't either. The email may have originated from one of the gas companies because it told how other products cost alot more per gallon than gas does. Liquid Paper-$25.00 per gallon. Scope $20.00 per gallon. There were several examples. We have gotten other emails like this in the past so they must be circulating around quiet a bit. While it is true, many things cost alot more per gallon than gas does, that doesn't mean that gas should cost nearly as much as it does. Gold costs $400 an ounce but they don't charge you $50 for a 1 ounce wooden pencil and tell you that you are getting a good deal. The fact is, since it costs less than a nickel to produce a pencil, you can buy one for about a dime. A fair price. Since gasoline costs less than 50 cents per gallon to produce, a fair price for it would be about $1.00. Since everything else we buy has to be shipped using gasoline, it is soon going to start causing the price of everything else to start going up. Hopefully some regulations will be placed on the gasoline companies before pencils actually do start selling for $50.
